5 FREE Must-Have Essentials to Elevate Your Business!

Welcome to the ultimate guide to business success! Whether you’re just starting on your entrepreneurial journey or you’re a seasoned pro looking to refresh your toolkit, you’re in the right place. We’ve compiled a list of 5 must-have essentials that will help you build a strong foundation for your business, navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship, and ultimately, achieve your goals. So, grab your favourite beverage, settle in, and let’s dive straight in!

1. Free Business Website

Okay, so technically, you don’t need a website, but let’s face it, in today’s digital age, not having a website is kind of like showing up to a party in your PJs. It’s your online storefront, representing your brand, showcasing your products or services, and often serving as the first point of contact for potential customers. Sure, social media would do the trick, but where’s the fun in that?

If your budget is the size of a grain of rice, do not worry! You don’t need to drop hundreds of pounds on a swanky website. You can create effortless website designs using Wix, Google Sites, or my personal fav, Canva. You can choose from ready-made templates and customise it to make it your own. It’s super easy, and you don’t need to be a design pro either! Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can!

You don’t get a customized domain name but you can get them super cheap. I got mine from 123-reg.co.uk for only £0.79p. You can then add this to your Canva site for a professional-looking website in minutes!!

The only downside is that a Canva website will not count towards your SEO or analytics, and it doesn’t always format well when viewing from a mobile. But hey, it’s a fantastic starting point if you’re on a shoestring budget.

2. Business Cards — Try Linktree

You cannot deny, that business cards remain a powerful networking tool. They’re convenient, portable, and provide a tangible reminder of your brand and contact info. However, printing business cards can be costly, especially since you typically need to buy them in large quantities each time.

With Linktree, you can upload all your contact info, social links, images, and more to create a sleek digital business card. Plus, you can generate a QR code for people to scan, instantly accessing all your information on their devices. It’s free, eco-friendly, and eliminates the need to carry physical cards everywhere you go! Check it out 👇

3. Social Media

Social media is probably THE most valuable tool for building brand awareness, engaging with customers, and driving sales! Establishing a presence on platforms relevant to your target audience has never been easier and can help you reach new customers and strengthen relationships with existing ones. And it’s completely FREE!!

But where do you get all your amazing ideas and images to post about? I got ya… Plan out in advance what you want to post. Click here to download my FREE 30-Day Social Media Content Plan to get you started with ideas of what to post and when.

(I’ll definitely do another post soon on this as there is wayyyy too much to add to this post.)

Then create your designs using one of Canva’s many FREE templates. Customise with your own brand colours, logos and text and you will be uploading professional social posts in minutes.

Not feeling creative, that’s ok, ChatGPT to the rescue! Use it to brainstorm ideas, ask questions, or use it to help create catchy captions. My advice is, only use it as an assistant, don’t copy it word for word or you will lose that personal touch and risk sounding, robotic!

4. Email Marketing

Email marketing remains one of the most effective ways to connect with your audience. An email marketing platform allows you to create and send targeted campaigns, automate processes, and measure results, helping you nurture leads and drive conversions.

It’s also handy as it keeps all your customer info in one place and allows you to track who is active and who is not. Some options are:

  • MailChimp free for smaller audiences up to 500 emails per day.
  • MailerLite free for up to 1000 subscribers, also has a free website option
  • ConvertKit free for up to 1,000 subscribers and you can sell digital products & subscriptions
