Life is a beautiful, messy adventure! And I'm here for it!

Hi, nice to meet you. I’m Leeanne.

As I write this I am sat on the beach on a beautiful sunny day in my hometown of Southsea, so bloody grateful for the experiences I have had along the way that have led me to where I am now — an adventure-loving, hard-working, entrepreneurial, creative dreamer, loving wife, and cat mum of one to my beautiful fur baby Tony. ðŸ‘‡

Ind-leeanne-a Jones

I loved my life as a carefree child! I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer and growing up, we used to live in a pub called The Sun Inn, in the small village of Dummer near Basingstoke, surrounded by fields and farmland. My sister and I, along with our cousins, would spend many days living in our own fantastical worlds, pretending we were long-lost travellers on epic adventures. We would scour the fields looking for buried treasure hoping to strike gold! No surprise, we never found any, but we did once find a load of shell necklaces which I convinced myself were ancient treasures from forgotten tribes. Still a win in my eyes!

Always the Entrepreneur

When I wasn’t hunting for treasure, I was busy making perfumes from crushed rose petals and writing stories, dreaming of becoming an author. I loved creating dance routines and putting on shows for our families, but even as a kid, I was told “If you want something, you gotta work hard for it” And I did! I wanted a pony (doesn't every little girl!) and I worked bloody hard for it! Every Wednesday after school I would work in my auntie’s pub kitchen, washing dishes to pay towards the loan of a friend’s horse. It was a dream come true for me. My cousin and I spent countless hours galloping across fields on our horses, Fleur and Sancho. Growing up in a pub definitely had its perks; our parents knew we were safe, and our imaginations could run wild.

School was ok I guess? I was decent academically, but moved about a bit so was often known as the new girl! I enjoyed sports, competing in the triathlon during sports day. I even got chosen to run cross-country for Hampshire, although I didn’t do too well on the day as that’s when I realised I had Asthma. Art then became my “thing” and I was introduced to business studies, which I found fascinating working with computers. A relatively new thing back then! (omg how old — eeek!!)

At 16, I left school and went straight to work. My dream was to become a hairdresser, but my Doctor at the time advised against it due to being born with a clicky Hip, standing on my feet all day would be detrimental. Not really knowing what path I wanted to take, I joined my mum's employers, working in the canteen of a large corporation, where I was headhunted and moved to their facilities department looking after two large sites. I eventually embraced my creative side and spent 15 years as a beautician, running my own business, which honed my creative and business skills.

Later, I managed a busy UK Circus office. It was amazing. All that glitz and glam. I loved handling HR with amazing superstars from all around the world, client relations, event management, and more gaining extensive experience in office management and customer support. But it was a tricky challenge running two circuses up and down the country in the mad world of Covid and my health took a turn (I later found out I have Endometriosis), so I made the difficult decision to leave my circus family and go it alone as a Virtual Assistant.

The sun always shines in Southsea

Every week, (when the weather is kind), I meet up with my sister (who lives next door) for a walk along the beautiful Southsea coast, a dirty turmeric latte in hand. Every day I see something new and beautiful that catches my eye. With my trusty phone, I capture memories wherever I go, fancying myself quite the photography whiz. I really do love living in Southsea. I moved here back in December 2017 to build a new life by the sea and it literally changed my life overnight. Two weeks after moving here I met the man who would soon become my husband and we wed a few years later in August 2020 on Canoe Lake in Southsea. It was the most perfect day possible!

A Life of Crime… documentaries!

I do love to chill out watching a good crime documentary, but only during the daytime though. I can’t watch them at night, or the baddies may come and get me, I know, what a wimp! I also balance my daily working schedule finding zen through yoga practice. Music festivals are my happy place. I was so lucky to be a part of the amazing art crew at Blissfields in Hampshire for four years and have attended Glastonbury five times. But the smaller, quirky festivals have a special place in my heart and I would love to work at one again one day, painting signs and decor.

I’ve got an adventurous side too. People are always shocked when they hear that Hiking mountains is my therapy. I’ve conquered Snowdon via the Watkins Path (twice), the Llanberis Path (twice), and the Pyg Track (once). I’ve also tackled Table Mountain in South Africa, Calpe Rock in Spain, and Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons. Oh and I dunno why, but I’m obsessed with waterfalls, bridges, and tunnels — I just get super excited when I see one, my Husband thinks I’m mad!

Seeing as much as we can around the UK in our converted Ford Transit is another passion. We’ve explored Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall, and I can’t wait to take our adventures across Europe someday, but we’ve had to put that on hold for now as my hubby needed the van for his new business. But we will be back on the road in no time!

I could definitely do without…

Honestly, there’s not much I don’t like, but horror films and people who litter are high on the list. My ADHD brain makes timekeeping tricky, and rudeness is a big no-no. Making decisions? Not my favourite thing — in fact, it’s pretty much impossible for me to make a decision.

Fun Facts About Me

  • I was an extra in a small-budget movie filmed in Basingstoke.
  • I auditioned for a girl group and made it to the final four.
  • I applied to go on the second-ever Big Brother back when you sent in a video cassette tape!
